Love these bedskirts. The price was great and I got it in several colors so that I can change them to match the bedspreads that I change monthly. Haven't washed any yet, so I don't know how that will turn out, but, since it is microfiber, I assume that if I get it out of the dryer soon enough it will be minimally wrinkled. Best parts about these - heavy enough to not be see-through and they are tailored nicely to fit well. I cut away all but 18" of the under mattress fabric so that I don't have to lift the whole mattress every time I change bedskirts. It makes life real easy for me as the 18" fabric is enough to hold the bedskirt firmly in place and makes the change an easy one.
i actually purchased this bedskirt in Full size for my Queen size - low profile box spring. And, IT WORKED!!The fabric is lightweight enough that it still drapes well. I am elated. Low-profile bedskirts are just not available and I am so glad I thought of this great idea.
I needed a queen size bedskirt and this one worked perfectly. The size was just right. I washed it before use, as i do with all linens and it did not shrink. It definitely needed to be ironed and I used a spray starch which made a world of difference. I would recommend it to my friends.
I asked two of the Overstock staff before I ordered this to see whether this comes with split corners, they said no. I ordered it anyway figured I could just cut it myself if it didn't have split corners. I was pleasantly surprised that it indeed has split corners (I ordered queen) :) Size wise, it fits perfectly on our queen size box spring, it only has 3 sides.Material wise, it's not the best quality but it will work. The part that goes under the mattress seems to be a different (worse quality) material than the "skirt" that is exposed. Generous ruffles all around too!Overall though, it is a good quality bed skirt. It was very wrinkly when I first got it but it ironed beautifully, so no problems there.I haven't washed it yet and don't plan to unless it gets dusty, I hope it won't shrink when I do!
This is a good looking dust ruffle, long and covers bed frame and I have a double box spring and mattress on this bed, but the material is a bit thin. It would be better if it were a heavier type of material. I will say that there is a lining under the dust ruffle which makes it look much better. However, this was the most wrinkled product I have EVER received in a package. I am thinking the package was way too small for the product. It took 1 1/2 hours to iron out the wrinkles. I am an excellent at ironing and have been ironing all types of clothes and other materials for years. This was the worst and most frustrating ironing project I have ever encountered. Probably worth it. Overall, I rate this product good.
I purchased just one to go along the top part of the bed over and across to give that drapey look and I already have white panels with black ties at the foot of the bed and with a black and white theme I got this in black and it makes it look so nice!! Def wide and long enough to go across my king, drape down some and touch the floor on each side! LOVE IT!
I love this bed skirt! I have a heavy king tempurpedic mattress and bed skirts have been a nightmare! This goes on quickly without lifting mattress or having it displace when putting mattress on boxspring. Looks great! Love it! Exactly what I wanted!
I have an adjustable bed and I have looked forever for a decent bed skirt! This is truly amazing ! I can put my bed in any position and it stays in place. It was so easy to put onto bed platform and that's saying a lot as I'm disabled. It looks terrific too. I think the style matches perfectly with any decor but I chose white as that meets my color needs. This is really a lovely bed skirt and I am so glad I took the chance to try something new. Thanks again Overstock!
An earlier reviewer said she found the weight of the fabric too flimsy, so I was pretty sure I'd have to send this back when I got it. But it turned out that the weight is fine. It drapes beautifully. If I have one complaint, it's that either my full-size bed is smaller than standard or the bedskirt is larger than standard, because I'm going to have to hem it up about 2 inches all around. I love that there's an entire fabric base that spreads across the mattress. So many bedskirts these days are like fake neckties that are held up only by elastic at the edges.
This bed skirt is a good product. Of course, after being folded up for so long it does require ironing. Just be very careful that you do not apply the hot iron to the white part of the bed skirt AT ALL. It will melt. However, the colored section of the skirt irons flat very well.
This quilted bedskirt was even better when I received it than what I was expecting!!! I am very happy with my purchase and it looks absolutely wonderful on the bed, and gives it that "finished" look. Very good quality, and prompt delivery as well.
Hard to find style where you don't have to lift the mattress to get to your bed skirt (eg to wash/dust it). The elastic at the head of the bed holds the bed skirt in place; I bought a King in navy, and it is true to the color in the picture. A problem I have is that it does not have cut outs/slits for the foot corners; I have foot posts and I've never known a company not to cut the material for the feet. I called the seller who verified with the manufacturer that this is how they make it. So the bed skirt rides up on the corners. Because this style in mult-colors is hard to find, I kept it to complete the look of my bedroom. Maybe someday the seller can add these slits to the foot corners. Otherwise I highly recommend.
We have a low profile box spring and it is soooooo hard to find a bedskirt that doesn't drag the floor. We have a regular king size bed and instead of ordering that size I actually ordered a california king since they are narrower and just a bit longer than a standard king, and it worked out perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!! The bedskirt is really nice material and didn't even slide when I put the giant mattress back on top of it and pushed it into place. Love it!
I recently put risers under my bed frame..for more storage after moving into a 1 bedroom house..This bed skirt is very attractive with its flat formal shape not ruffled...I have several comforters that I switch out and it matches well with all. The length is perfect and with 5 inch risers I'm able to store lots of stuff under the bed.
Works nicely on my gray and white bed. Needs a little ironing only on the skirt )don't let the iron hit the part that goes on the mattress). Absolutely a nice addition for the money. Have seen bed skirts similar elsewhere and they are double the price. Can't see where you'll go wrong.
This is better than the last bedskirt I bought in that the platform part fits the top of the boxsprings correctly, not hanging over the edge of the bed too much. The drop is just the right length and the only thing I would improve is the thickness of the white skirt. It washes well and didn't need ironing.
This is a darling ruffle. It fits the bed well and is split on the corners, which is a definite plus. I paired it with the Adora quilt on this site in my daughter's room. It is a lovely combination. The look is very similar to that found in high end retailers at a fraction of the cost. The ruffles are done in a nice, light fabric and needed only to be fluffed in the dryer before placing on the bed. The foundation is the thin poly type and the only drawback in my opinion. I prefer a sheeting type foundation because they seem to last a bit longer. Overall this is a darling product and, if I were reviewing only on the basis of looks, it would be an "excellent" review.
Saw earlier reviews which described a wrinkled fabric. I ran it through the washer and dryer before putting it on the bed. It came out not exactly smooth, but good enough unless you are super fussy. After it was on the bed, I sprayed it with wrinkle remover I didn't try to iron it, although that is an option. It's been on the bed for several weeks now, and wrinkles are gone. Many color choices in this silky lightweight fabric.
Why did it take so long for something like this to come out? If your anything like me you hate bed skirts and how they never stay in place!! This will change your mind about having a box spring for sure... Not with this. No movement, very easy to put on, looks very nice especially if you have black sheets. Only wish they were more colors to choose from.
I ordered the comforter and did not realize the shams were separate. So I ordered them. They made a classic addition to the comforter. Look great with our new dark wood bedroom suite. Love them. M. Simmons
I needed a bedskirt that had three things. They were: 1. Good quality fabric. Not see-through or thin. 2. Length to hit the floor exactly -- not look as if it's 'floating' off the floor (decorator's nightmare!). 3. I needed the fabric that holds the bedskirt together to be made of cotton -- NOT that terribly cheap stuff that tears easily and melts if it's put in the dryer. This bedskirt covered all of those points with ease. I was most impressed that it's made COMPLETELY of a nice-weight cotton. So, no worries about putting this in the dryer. It won't melt or tear easily at all. It's made well, so I have no worries that it won't hold up over time. Overall, I am very pleased with this bedskirt and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality bedskirt. As far as others commenting on not showing pet hair that much, I tend to disagree. I have two cats with light colored hair and when they crawl under the bed, their fur does accumulate on the bedskirt. However, that's to be expected with furry friends that have light hair when you have dark colored fabrics. That shouldn't detract anyone from purchasing this.
I bought two of these; one in queen size for the master bedroom and one in full size for my daughter's room. They are absolutely stunning on the bed! I bought the ivory color to go in our shabby chic/romantic style bedrooms and couldn't be happier with the look! Thank you so much Overstock for having these - they are first class all the way!
I'd give this an Excellent based on how cute it is, but the fabric is not that high quality in itself. It is a thin yet crispy cotton, not very soft and perhaps unwashed. I think a cold water wash will soften it. (The matching Antique Rose quilt set was soft. This looks great with that set.)
There is a cute single tuck /semi-pleat in the center of side and bottom panels. The hem stitching is kind of big - about 5 stitches per inch. The hems are rolled (good). The seams are sergered and the white fabric that lies across the box spring is soft. The color is a 1/2 shade lighter than my comforter, but I actually like the slight variance; it seems more authentic and vintage and looks pretty. Obviously a different die lot.
I was a bit alarmed when it arrived - it was packaged so that only white "under fabric" showed -none of the pattern was visible and I thought it was a mistake. That seemed rather odd. Maybe it was a fluke. I have ordered 2 more so I can use the fabric to widen my quilt (my mattress is 14" thick and the quilt was 4" too narrow), and maybe make a pillow. After a few washes, of course. So, clearly, it's not too bad!
I recently purchased this canopy in white to hang over my queen sized bed.
- Adds a nice dramatic feel to you bed/bedroom (I've gotten nothing buy compliments so far)
- Comes with all the supplies you need for install (ceiling hooks, anchors, and little rope ties)
- Fairly easy to install and won't take many tools (just a hammer or drill bit to help predrill your 4 holes)
- Unless you have high ceilings, the center of the canopy is going to drape fairly low. I'm fine with the way it looks, but others might not be, so I really wouldn't recommend the canopy for beds that are smaller than a queen and ceilings lowers than 8 to 9 feet
- Fabric is softer than I expected, which is a plus, but it seems like it will snag very easily, so just keep that in mind when washing and such
- Some had mentioned that the white canopy was too sheer, but I'd have to disagree, I think it has just the right amount of opaqueness to give that airy quailty
- You really don't need to use the anchors. I found that they were more of a hassle to install than I was willing to put up with. The ceiling hooks I think will do just fine because the canopy is not a heavy fabric at all.
Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and can't wait to find another great buy on Overstock!
I got 2 of these when we bought our new house. I bought the comforter set that goes with them. Every time I made our bed my husband would say that I needed to get one more of the big pillow to make the bed look right. So I did. He didn’t know how expensive they were, and still doesn’t. Lol. I ordered one more and the bed does look beautiful. Gets lots of compliments. These pillows are expensive, but the quality is so worth it. Love the Croscill Bradney set!

Designed to fit between your mattress and box spring, bed skirts serve both decorative and practical functions, since they help hide your box spring and the space beneath your bed. Bed skirts are made from many different fabrics and come in a wide assortment of colors and patterns to complement almost any comforter or duvet cover. Whether you prefer a bed skirt made from simple fabric panels and featuring tailored construction, or if flouncy pleats or rows of ruffles are more to your liking, bed skirts provide a visual anchor for your bed. In contemporary decor, homeowners often choose to forgo a bed skirt, opting instead to conceal their box spring with a streamlined fitted cover.
Bed skirts made from higher thread counts can provide a luxurious look that rivals that of a boutique hotel room. Choosing a solid-colored bed skirt can give added prominence to a secondary color in your comforter. Bed skirts are intended to skim the floor, and they come in drop lengths starting at around 14 inches. Taller beds may require a longer bed skirt drop to keep dust bunnies out of sight.
Decorative throw pillows offer one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to keep your decor looking fresh year-round. Paired with a neutral-colored comforter, intricately patterned and richly colored throw pillows lend excitement to your space. Switching out your throw pillows as the seasons change adds a sense of fun and variety to your home.
Pillows shams are decorative coverings that come in both pocket and zippered styles. Both versions allow you to easily remove the sham for laundering. They come in dimensions designed to fit standard, queen, and king bed pillows. Euro shams are another type of covering specifically designed for large square pillows measuring approximately 26 inches x 26 inches. Professional interior decorators frequently position a pair of Euro shams against the headboard and add smaller throw pillows in assorted shapes and sizes to lend dimension to bed linens.
Styles of Bedding Accessories
With their relaxed, cozy feel, country-influenced bedding accessories are a great choice for anyone who appreciates a lived-in look. Checks, floral prints, and classic French-inspired toile designs are common in country style settings. Accessories featuring eyelet lace, embroidery, or crocheted elements often resemble antique linens that have been handed down through the generations. Rustic bedding accessories with cowboy, farmhouse, or rodeo motifs also suit this design style, along with quilted shams that offer an authentic, handmade look.
On-trend bohemian style permits you to give free rein to your love of color and pattern. Vibrant hues, a complex mixture of patterns, and layered accessories capture the free-spirited bohemian design aesthetic. This unconventional style offers an outlet for your creativity and self-expression, inviting you to experiment and take risks. Whimsical ruffled bed skirts, sheer canopies, and lacy shams are great options that let you unleash your bohemian side.
Contemporary bedding accessories tend to exhibit clean, unfussy lines without a lot of embellishment. Simple cording on throw pillows, tailored bed skirts, and monochromatic color schemes are typical. Since contemporary bedding accessories usually work equally well in bedrooms for either gender, they offer a smart option for couples' bedrooms.
Overstock also carries novelty bedding accessories that are perfect for enhancing almost any decorating theme. Pillows depicting images of sea creatures, anchors, and other nautical motifs complement coastal decor, and a sparkly, feminine canopy is the ideal crowning accessory for the bed where the little princess in your family sleeps. Rotating novelty bedding accessories as the seasons change offers a quick and easy way to freshen up your decor. For example, green and red pillow shams featuring festive sprigs of holly strike the perfect note when holiday guests arrive.
Bedding Accessories FAQs
Can I mix patterns of bedding accessories without clashing?
Mixing patterns is a fun way to create a look that is all your own. However, following a few simple guidelines can ensure harmony when you combine several patterns in a single room. As a general rule of thumb, stick to a unified color palette, and choose a solid and no more than three different patterns. Selecting a stripe, a geometric, and a floral or paisley pattern is an easy formula for pulling together a cohesive look. Varying the scale of the patterns helps achieve visual balance.
How can I use bedding accessories to add interest to monochromatic decor?
Bringing a variety of textures into your room lends a pinch of spice to monochromatic design schemes. For example, you can pair a cotton quilt with a nubby burlap bed skirt to mix things up. Pillows featuring metallic or silky fabrics add a touch of shimmer or sheen to your space. As another tip, you can add bedding accessories in various shades and tints of the same color to help monochromatic decor feel inspired and modern.
What is the best method for cleaning bedding accessories?
Unlike bed sheets and pillow cases, bed skirts and pillow shams typically only need to be cleaned a few times a year. For bedding accessories featuring embroidery, quilting, or delicate fabrics, dry cleaning is frequently the best cleaning method. Cotton or polyester accessories can often be tossed into the washing machine for hassle-free laundering. Take precautions against shrinking and follow the label directions for drying instructions. Be prepared to iron bed skirts and shams, if necessary, to keep them looking crisp and neat.
This bed skirt is nice. Not sure what you can say or not say about a bed skirt. It fits the bed nicely and matches the bedding I purchased nicely.
I often order these in grey and white. When I switch up the bedding from white to grey I also Like to make sure the skirt is in toon with the rest of the room.
