      This item worked fine for a little while. Nothing exceptional, but it did work. Bought it in December and now one half of the blanket won't heat. The controller flashes "Error" and won't work. If you are buying something from Overstock, you better be sure you don't want to return it. In a live chat with a customer service rep, I was told that I may be able to get a partial refund. WHAT?! An item that is defective in approximately 90 days from purchase and I cannot get a refund? Wow. I find that unacceptable. I have learned my lesson. I emailed a complaint and the lady who replied was helpful and gave me a $$ refund. Well, its not the $$ plus shipping that I paid, so I am not thrilled, but its better than nothing. I am now in the process of calling the defunct company to try to get it exchanged thru warranty.... not sure if I will get anywhere on that. That's another thing... the manufacturer of beautyrest electric blankets is no longer in business. Keep that in mind. I didn't find that very comforting.

      "I got this blanket in December 2015; Recently my blanket is showing "E" on the controller. I have tried unplugging and replugging it and it still shows E on the controller."

        Unplug it from the wall and blanket. Then plug back into blanket and then the wall. If it was plugged into the wall and you unplugged from blanket then plugged back in, it will give you the "E"...error.

      "When I first used this product, it just give off much heat. What's wrong with it?"

        Seems to take a while to warm up and it uses zone thermostats so sometimes if the blanket is folded over on itself, it may cool down to compensate. Keep it as flat, yet normal as possible. works quite nicely after a while and actually gets nice and almost hot.

        I use a heavier blanket on top of the electric one to conceal the warmth. Works great. I've even washed it in the Wasing Machine, hang dry & still works very nicely.         I don't know about your question. But I just thought I would tell you that the material around the wires puckers up when you try to smooth out the blanket. Very unattractive.

The problem with “low voltage” blankets is that they are also low heat, which we consider counter-productive in a heated blanket. When used at the lower temperature settings, our blanket will draw less voltage and provide less heat, much like the “low voltage” heated blanket in the market. I hope this helps.

        This blanket controller flashes an E after you turn it off and immediately turn it on again. You have to wait for 10 minutes after turning it off before it resets and you can turn it on again. It is a ridiculous design. It is so easy to mistakenly turn it off and then you have to sit there and wait 10 minutes before you can turn it on again and go to sleep. I do NOT recommend this product!

        IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU'VE ATTEMPTED TO USE THE BLANKET, YOU WOULD RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE, IF THE BLANKET WERE NOT SET UP PROPERLY. UNPLUG BLANKET FROM THE WALL AND FROM THE END OF THE BLANKET. REVERSE THE WAY YOU INITIALLY SET AND PLUGGED THE BLANKET. IF REVERSING THE WAY YOU SET UP THE BLANKET DOES NOT WORK, SIMPLY TURN OFF THE BLANKET FROM THE CONTROL SETTINGS, WAIT ONE MINUTE AND TURN BLANKET BACK TO WHAT SETTING YOU WISH. I'VE HAD THE ELECTRIC BLANKET FOR YEARS AND SEVERAL TIMES I DID RECEIVE THE E MESSAGE AS I KEPT SETTING UP THE BLANKET INCORRECTLY! HOPE THIS WORKS , IT DID FOR US.
