I bought this as a a valentine's day gift. My boyfriend is a big and tall guy and it fits perfect. There is nothing worse than a robe that's too small. The material feels very expensive and like I mentioned earlier, very roomy. Sizing is right on.
I agree with others that the robe is shorter than the photo, and I"m only 5'2". This is the major reason it didn't get five stars from me. There is a lot of extra material in the chest area, I assume to accommodate larger women. Perhaps two sizes would be better than trying to fit everyone with a single size. It's a great weight and the fabric feels very pleasant to the skin. Some people are questioning whether it is cotton -- I'm pretty sure it is, but it should be described as a cotton knit -- not quite a jersey knit. I don't believe it's polyester, because to me polyester feels like wearing a plastic bag. This fabric definitely breathes like cotton. It's great to find a robe in colors other than pastels.
I am dedicated to writing honest and objective reviews, which I will do herein. I got this robe in about one week. I tried it on and found that at 6' 3" 180lbs, the marked L/LG robe looked 4 sizes too big and baggy as I had read other reviewers relate. I have sent a few items back very recently but am getting tired of that, so my wife suggested she would wash it in hot water and then dry it with hot air cycle. That worked! It shrunk and now fits like a glove! If yours is too big, I suggest you do as stated rather than send the robe back. It is a very heavy and well made robe, although it seems costly for a terry cloth robe.
