  • Car seat
    Verified Purchase

I loved the look of this car seat. It was perfect for our son. As far as car seats go, it did its job. It was easy to put in & take out of the car. It felt safe. It was easy enough to carry. No complaints.

  • Good (Value) Car Seat
    Verified Purchase

This car seat is recommended as a "Best Buy" by ConsumerReports and it is true. Very satisfied with the product. The only issue is the carrying handle. The buttons on both sides of the handle to move it back and forth does not work as well as I expected. You have press it hard and even then it takes a couple of times before the handle could be moved.

  • Best car seat I have found
    Verified Purchase

I had this carrier/car seat for my son and LOVED it so much! I didn't realize how great it really was until hearing so many moms complain about theirs and then compliment mine. I will say that maybe it would not be snug enough for a preemie, however for my average/larger than average son, this was perfect. When shopping for my nephew, I ended up purchasing the same model in the blue/grey (I had the brown/green) and his parents LOVED it as well. Hope this helps.

WEIGHT: This seat is very heavy with baby in it, which is to be expected from a larger seat like this. People should make that decision with consideration to ability and circumstances. I'm pregnant, and I pulled an abdominal muscle- the carrier with baby in it was too heavy for me to carry while my muscle healed. Even on a good day though I put it directly on a shopping cart or stroller because it's too heavy and awkward to carry around the store. With my daughter in it it's probably 30 pounds, so it's like carrying my toddler on one arm. PRICE: The price is good, especially on I paid $** PROBLEMS: 1. The straps are a little tricky to get even on baby, but it still gets tight enough. 2. The canopy sticks- which causes the handle to get stuck, so I have to struggle to get the canopy out of the way in order to move the handle back. This seems like a common problem with many carriers I've read about. My old Graco snug-ride did not have this problem. I eventually figured out the best ways to move it around for minimal fuss. 3. The straps seem to taper in too close to baby's neck.. leaving marks if I don't put something between her skin and the strap. She's too big for strap pads. COMFORT: It's comfortable- My daughter will sit in it happily on shopping trips without asking to get out. She sleeps well in it and her head is supported well (no hanging forward while she sleeps!) The fabric is serviceable, not soft and fluffy, but it isn't super thin like some cheap car seats I've seen. The straps can rub marks on baby's neck. FIT: I really cannot imagine her being in this till she's 35 pounds because my 31/2 year old is 35 pounds. So overall I don't think it's true to size, but still better than the 22# capacity carriers which my larger babies only fit in till about 6 mos. old. My daughter is just under 18 pounds and average height for a one year old; her feet are pretty close to sticking out at the bottom, but she still has plenty of headroom. I could see her fitting in this until about two years old, though I don't think I'll be hauling it around for much longer. I plan to mover her to a more roomy First Years TrueFit when our baby comes in November. I don't think a very large baby would fit much past a year old, but I could be wrong. - I have not used the seat for a newborn yet. SAFETY: This seat gets excellent crash safety reviews from consumer reports, which is why we chose it. OVERALL: This seat is very inexpensive without compromising safety. This seat has EXCELLENT safety ratings and in all area it rates just as high as a very expensive seat. (it actually rates higher than some of the very expensive seats) I researched seats in all categories with consumer reports before making a choice. If I had money to burn I would chose one without the small issues I mentioned and more cushy padding, but these are not deal breakers for me.

  • Safe

I purchased this product because of its consumer reports safety rating. It has the highest rating, tied with the Chicco Keyfit (which is about double the price). I am happy to have a safe seat, but the quality of the materials seems pretty cheap. The sun/rain shield's thin plastic frame seems like it wants to break. But it hasn't broken yet!

  • Seat looks good, packaging was wanting

This did not come in the retail box and did not include manuals, just the car seat (looking new, with a registration card attached) in a box. Not impressed. Car seats should be shipped protected, and the manual is IMPORTANT.
