From day one my son had a terrible problem with gas being trapped in his body after feedings. We tried several different vented nipple bottles w. little to no help. I had received the 8oz options bottles as a baby shower gift but didn't bother using them until he was having larger bottles. From the very first use there was an immediate difference. he was finally able to have a feeding without the pain and crying due to trapped gas. I immediately bought additional bottles and we haven't turned back since. I have not experienced any leaking or any other problems with these bottles. BUY SEVERAL!
I have always loved all the doctor brown products. So I decided to purchase the new dr. Brown options bottle. When I first purchased them they were great and I love all the benefits the bottle has for breast milk but all my bottles leak! No matter how I close them or what I do they leak everywhere. It is so frustrating to feed your baby and before you know it his chest is full of milk and you have no idea how much he has had. And all the pumping mothers out there would underetand why I would be so upset over my breast milk being wasted.
I went to Children's Mercy Hospital (Kansas City) for my 1-month-old son's first visit. He has Apert's Syndrome and with that a very high arch to the roof of his mouth and a small cleft of his soft palet. He was having a hard time feeding from a bottle...but tried hard. (The NICU he was released from had placed a G-tube to help maintain nutrition). The nutritionist and OT tried this feeding system and he ate 2.5 ounces on his first try! He has continued to eat 2.5-3oz at every feeding since. THANKS DR. BROWN'S!!!!
