In my opinion this leaves nothing to be desired IF you're willing to hard mount it. I was hoping to use the pressure mount but it just wasn't realistic with a gate this wide... I think the only way to pressure mount a gate this wide would be if there were a support footing (which one of my smaller gates has) to keep the baby from being able to push it back and forth. I got the bronze and it looks great. SOOO much more appealing than my other whites. Very secure. My 1 year-old boy has given it his best shot and it holds perfectly.
I wanted a plain white gate to keep our dog in the kitchen and this fit the bill. It's been in use for about a month and a half now. I wish the attachment hardware was metal because I can already sense how the lock is changing - just not 'snapping' into place as positively as it did at first although it still feels sturdy and the dog hasn't managed to escape it (and he's crashed 2 other gates). My biggest gripe is the safety warning permanently emblazoned across both the top and bottom so you can't hide it and it doesn't appear I can get rid of it without damaging the finish. It's very quick and easy to remove & replace the gate if you want it gone for the day although the hardware remains on the door frame. I didn't want an auto close gate because we only need it intermittently but gate doesn't stay open, it always swings back (you still have to manually lock it in place) but I'm not sure if it's the gate or the house/installation causing it. Overall good value for the price. FYI - It's not a stark, cool, appliance white, it's warmer, if that matters.
