I've been using this for a few weeks now and it's been great. It just happens to fit perfectly in every opening I need it for to sequester my giant breed puppy. It stands up to his abuse admirably without blinking. And not only because gates don't blink--this one probably could if it wanted to, it's that good! The height of the gate makes it a little trickier to step over (I'm 5'9" and I can barely step over it without damaging my... self) but I'm more concerned with keeping the dog where I want him, so I'm okay with that.
I got this gate for my bedroom doorway as it is right near a set of stairs! THe gate is very nice, but you can not work it with one hand! you need to slide the red piece then lift the lever, which takes more than one hand! also I did not want to make holes in the wall so I thought the fact that it was a pressure mounted gate, I would not have to make any holes, but if you put the gate safely tight with the torque needed to keep it firm then the safety lever does not fit right it goes past the opening! THe gate is okay it is up and all is well but I would never ever suggest it for the top of stairs! Maybe it would be better if I attached it to the wall, but that is not an option!THis is all the manufacture, not overstock! they offered a nice gate for a great price , even better free shipping!! Hope this helps Mom of 4 and an RN on Cape.
This gate is easy to mount to the wall and easy to open and close. We love it and my grandchild has given it the test. So far, he has been unable to get through it. It can't be climbed and the latch is strong enough that he will have to get a lot taller and stronger to be able to open it. I am not worried. My only concern is him standing on the lower rail and snagging it down, but for now I not concerned about that. The latch is made so that it should not be a problem. Love it, get one. You won't be sorry.
