From the moment I found I that I was expecting my little girl, my heart was set on using dr browns bottle. I went and purchased the 4oz bottles. Because they didn't have purple in 4oz, I had no choice but to buy the pink and clear one. Let me tell you, although they are a pain to wash Bc there are many parts to the bottle, the product is amazing. My daughter loves the nipples unlike other nipples from other brands that I had sampled. She is less gassy and fussy after each feeding. BUT one ONE THING that I would like to ask the design team to look into is the gap between the top of the nipple and the cap. Everytime when I shake the formula, it leaks. Maybe make a cap a little shorter where the nipple touches the cap to prevent formula from leaking while shaking the bottle?? I don't know but it is a little annoying to have formula on my hand while preparing a bottle for my daughter. Other than this complain, this is by far the best product I've used when it comes to bottle feeding my daughter.
I was recommended these bottles by a family member however, she used the original bottles, not the "options". While I do find that there has been overall improvement of the spits up, burping and colic, the construction of the bottles seems to have gaps. When the vents are in, there is a fair amount of leaking. This is problematic when traveling with the bottles. We've worked around this by waiting until we're just about to feed the baby before putting in the vent - we dont even have them in when heating up the bottle and testing it. It almost seems like the water collects at the top of the vent and then because the screw on top part is not very thick, the milk leaks out. However, without the vents, I do not have this issue. This website does offer some possible solutions to this in their FAQ section which we will try however, their solutions do not address why the bottles would leak (unheated) while traveling. I lost around 200ml traveling once. I do like the option of using the bottle with or without the vents. I tolerate the leaking because of the improvement I saw with the gas / spit ups. But perhaps the original bottles are better as my family member did not have this same issue.
My baby is now 2mths plus and she's been using Dr Brown's Wide-neck bottle since 1mth old. We've had 2 brands of bottles but she had a problem sucking in one and kept vomitting and no burping in another. We were passing by the baby section and saw Dr Brown's bottles on display and decided to give it a try and Im never turning back. After her first feeding using the bottle, she gave a loud burp and no vomitting at all! She only has a little issue with what formula is given to her. The only bottle problem is that you cant fill it with entirely hot water, because when u try shaking or swirling the milk inside, it will start spilling on the top. No idea how but yeah. Other than that, I am a happy mom with a happy baby.
I have bought these bottle since my son was born, 1 year and a half ago, to now. I love these bottles in particular because it can be use with or without the vent system. The vent system is also great because I can change it as my son grows. It helped reduce feeding problems, and made it easier for my son to use bottle since it is similar to breastfeeding, thanks to the paces flow. And an awesome feature to it is that it fits my breast pump! It makes it 100 times easier for me while I pump. To top it off it's BPA-free. It's been the most wonderful bottle i have and will ever use for my little one!
