You really do get what you pay for- and unfortunately sites like Overstock.com that sell these products perpetuate poorly made cheap furniture. I shopped around- considered buying the original Eames table, but opted for this one since it was less costly and the description made it sound like it was pretty solid. In the less than 3 months we have had this table- the base is cracked and the table top, which deems itself 'chip resistant' is well, chipped. I am really really disappointed that Overstock sold this item to me- but I understand they are here ti make money off of naive customers like me. Buyer beware. I wish Overstock would be more conscious of protecting it's consumers- but that will remain a wish.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Horrendous. We have had this table for 6+ weeks and the top is already chipped and the base is cracked.
Table arrived incredibly packaged. We could make several wedding gowns with the bubble wrap. So, It arrived in good shape, unfortunately it left the factory with some bubbles in the surface, but there is no way to return it because it is heavy and it took a lot of energy to unwrap and set up. A placemat will cover it up. I love the shape of this classic table, but I wish I had ordered the 47 ". Actually I thought I had, but it was only 40" and you can seat 4 at that, but it is tight.
