Awesome vacuum!
This is the second refurbished Dyson vacuum I'v bought from Overstock. When I saw the deal on this, I jumped. Even though my old Dyson still works great, in a home with 5 pets, I liked the idea of even more power to keep that pet hair at bay. Now I keep one downstairs and one upstairs. Truly a great machine.

Great Purchase
I love the refurbished Dyson! A great way to save a few hundred bucks and still get a great machine. My only "complaint" would be that the ball really heats up, and sometimes when using the wand attachments you need to prop your leg against the ball to make it stay in one place. Other than that, it's a great purchase! I have to empty the canister often, but I don't mind because it's just proof of how much dirt it sucks up.

I love this vacuum
Great price on this vacuum. Fairly compact, and it picks up A LOT of dirt. The dirt canister is easier to empty than my old vacuum and I like the newer looking style of this vacuum.

Not like they used to be
Stopped working correctly after less than a week of use. When they said this was designed for pet owners they must have meant people who own rodents. I had to empty the canister every two minutes. Will never buy another Dyson.

Great purchase.
I am so glad I purchased this from Overstock. It's an excellent vacuum and the price is excellent -- and I spent a while stalking similar items on XXXX before deciding to go with this one. I immediately brought it home, put it together (had some trouble attaching the front suction piece but eventually it snapped together), and proceeded to test the heck out of this bad boy on the carpet, wood flooring, and kitchen tile of my apartment. Also tested out the attached hose part too and finally got my AC filter clean. So happy with this product! Thank you!

Didn't to it's job!
We have dogs (including a Golden Retriever), and that's why I bought this model; many said it was great with their pet hair. I am the type that vacuums every day because I have a small toddler, and I like to keep a clean house. We have some wood floors, some carpeted, and some rugs. On the wooden floors, this vacuum could pick up most debris, not all (wasn't impressed). On carpet, I would literally have to roll over the area at least 5 times before most of the debris was gone. Suction power was just not strong enough.This particular Dyson model did not work for us. Although it was a great deal, the value was not there. On a side note, I actually tried this model out twice, in hopes that it was just a glitch the first time. Sadly, it was not a glitch. I will be trying out a different brand from overstock now.

Wanted to love but couldn't
This is a difficult review to write as I wanted to like this product so badly! I bought it to clean the carpeted area of the house and some of the hard flooring. We have a Weimaraner dog and needed to find a product that could pull up the hair he sheds. The vacuum suction seemed to work well and it pulled up a great deal of dirt, dust, and hair from the carpet. However, the canister kept popping off during use. Certainly it was an annoying problem to have but not a deal breaker until it popped off onto the hard flooring and the canister immediately broke! We were so disappointed in the quality and thought Dyson was making products inferior to what they have advertised. However, while we were at *** and checking out new Dyson vacuums, we realized that they seemed better made and the canisters seemed to fit airtight unlike the one we had purchased as a refurbished model. That led us to conclude that our refurbished product may very well be the issue. We are trying another Dyson, even another refurbished one from Overstock to see if our particular product just happened to be defective. Further reviews coming!

Dyson DC40 animal, refurb.
I have my new Dyson for about a month now and I have used it enough to be able to say I think its a good little machine. Very powerful with it's suction, seems to get deep down dirt out real well. I was amazed at how much "gunk" was in my carpets. I have the purple one and it is sleek and pretty. I love the way I just detach and empty the canister, no bags needed. The extra tools that come with are a plus too.
