Love Dyson! We have a zoo of cats & dogs who shed, and its amazing how much hair the Dyson picks up versus other vacuums. It's lightweight and easy to move. Only part that's iffy is its kind of a measure to empty it, as we have to do often. We love the Dyson so much we also bought one for our vacation home.

We had heard that the Dyson vacuums were the way to go. Until we got one we never dreamed of how wonderful a machine this really is. It picked up dirt etc...that was probably there for too long of time. Make some old carpets look new.

Dyson suction is good. The on/off switch for beater brush is conveniently located.

Neither Dyson nor any other company I've seen mentions the fact that the suction on this machine is so strong that, even with the beater bar up, the floor/rug attachment cannot be pulled smoothly across the rug for vacuuming. It actually lifts my 5x7 area rug up off the floor. Dyson customer service will tell you it cannot be used on area rugs but Dyson literature makes no mention of it. This defeats my primary objective which was to have one vacuum cleaner for all the floors and rugs in my house.

Previously had a Dyson upright which was heavy and awkward to use. This cannister vac is very easy to use, lightweight and efficient. Works great with cat hair. I especially like the ability to change between carpet and bare floor with just a push of a button on the handle.
