This fan functions superbly. While the tall standing model is stylish, (I saw one in white which looked like sculpture) this guy is short and squat, but it's mechanism is elegant and if it were either all brushed chrome like its base, or all black like its top, it would be much more of a showpiece. Nevertheless, I bought it to relay the window air conditioner's cooled air all the long way to the far end of my apartment, and it works like a charm. it's probably 4 times the cost it should be, but if I could afford another one, I'd buy it at once so I wouldn't have to disconnect this one to bring it into my bedroom at night. It's become a favorite object...almost as good as having a pet!
