I was a little concerned about buying this device from other reviews. It was a fair amount of work to assemble. At this point I am very pleased with the treadmill. It is working well. The only problem is the cordless heart monitor is not very accurate.Read More

I would like to be able to use this treadmill before leaving a review, however, the treadmill has been in my house for 3wks. now and it still is not working. I have called the company twice, they sent me a replace part to install, the replacement did not work, now they are sending me another replacement part. I talked with them this morning, saying that I really didn't have the ability to work on this machine, could they send a tech to do the work, no! they can't do that, unless this second part doesn't work. I asked them to just send someone to pick the treadmil up, and reimburse my account, I was told they can't do that either. If you decide to purchase anything from this company, be prepared to re-build it your-self!!Read More
I was a little disappointed that the treadmill did not come fully assembled. I figured that since the treadmill folds up for easy storage, maybe it would have come in the box folded up and ready to go. But that was not to be. It does require two adults to put it together. It weighs upwards of two hundred pounds and it would be impossible to do it by yourself. However, the assembly instructions were easy to read and it was not hard to put it together. I has been pleased with it's ease of operation, the wide variety of preprogramed workouts, and I really like the way it folds up for out of the way storage in the corner of the room. It has a smooth glide and it very steady even at the higher speeds. The only drawback to this treadmill is that the glide track has to be adjusted frequently as it has a tendency to move to the edge of the rollbar. If not adjusted back to the middle of the rollbar, the glide track tends to rub against part of the bottom of the machine. This can not only slow down the speed the machine is set for, but if not adjusted can cause damage to the glide track. But, the adjustment is very easily made with a small wrench that comes with the machine. Overall, I would highly recommend this machine.Read More
THis model and the TX 550 were recalled in 2005 after there were 110 people injured due to the speed increasing without noticeRead More
The treadmill came with a broken part for which there was no replacement piece in the bag (small part). We went online to order since the part wasn't even listed as a replacement piece that we could order. Online we found out the item had been recalled because of a problem with speed--would speed up without warning--and a kit could be sent out to fix that. We already had a ton of assembly to do and couldn't do because of the missing part. Bottom line, it sat in our bedroom for 6 weeks before we had to box it up for reshipment and we had to get this behemoth downstairs and out to the truckRead More
DO NOT buy a sportcraft treadmill. I owned this treadmill for 14 months and the motor went out. I ordered a new motor from sportcraft - only to find out this week after contacting them that they aren't going to be getting any parts or motors in because the manufacturer is NO LONGER MAKING THESE TREADMILLS! So I have a useless piece of junk that can NOT BE REPAIRED! DO NO BUY THIS MACHINE OR ANY of the SPORTCRAFT treadmills that are out there. YOU CAN NOT GET REPAIR PARTS IF THEY BREAK DOWN. They are CHEAP -- go on-line and type in sportcraft treadmills and you will see lots of BAD reviews! BUYER BEWARE!Read More

Treadmills vs Elliptical Trainers
New variations of tried-and-true exercise machines are always being introduced to the market as the technology of exercise equipment improves. Two exercise machines that have gained popularity are elliptical trainers and treadmills. A major advantage to elliptical trainers is that they possess little risk of injury to the knees, hips, back or ankles. Meanwhile, treadmills are home gym machines on which you can run, walk or jog. The treadmill has been in the marketplace for a long time and is a long-standing piece of standard equipment for most exercise enthusiasts. Elliptical Machines: Elliptical machines present a lower risk of injury to the body. This home gym machine allows the individual to stand in an upright position while supporting her upper body by holding onto the handrails. The individual is able to pick out what muscles to train by shifting the strength on the legs or the arms. This provides for a more flexible workout machine. The machine bears its name because it works to copy the foot's elliptical motion as well as the rotation of the hip during walking or running. Advantages of Elliptical Machines: Since elliptical machines work the upper and lower body, they help you reach your target heart rate more optimally, providing a better cardiovascular workout overall. Individuals can burn a larger number of calories in a shorter period of time. Muscles that benefit from this machine include the legs, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps and the back. Elliptical machines are also relatively easy to operate and are energy efficient because they do not use much electricity. Treadmills: Traditional treadmills were developed to help you walk, run or jog. Treadmills differ in advantages as there are some machines that have programs that can be customized based on your weight and fitness level. You can also manually control the program to increase or decrease the speed, the incline or the duration of the workout. Walking on a traditional treadmill, however, creates more impact on the knees and hips and may be a cause of injury for some users. Advantages of Treadmills: Some treadmill models have a cushioned surface to support the knees and other parts of the body. With these models, there is a lower risk of injury and an increased level of comfort for the user. Moreover, treadmills provide you with the option to run, jog or walk in the comfort of the gym. Also, you can burn calories by increasing the heart rate, providing a good cardiovascular workout. Buy Home Gym Machines Back to Guides Directory Buy Home Gym Machines
How to Buy a Treadmill Online
Purchasing any type of home gym machine requires some thought and research. How to Select an Elliptical Trainer
They help you lose weight and tone your body, but elliptical trainers do it in a way that is less stressful on the joints than stair climbers and treadmills. If you're looking for a great cardiovascular workout that tones your arms and legs and is easy on your joints, an elliptical trainer, also called an elliptical machine or an elliptical cross trainer, may be the way to go. There is no shortage of choices in home elliptical trainers, from gym-style cross-trainers to mini-steppers. Select an elliptical machine based on your goals, your fitness level, your finances and the features you desire in a home gym machine.
Elliptical Trainer Buying Guide
Elliptical trainers mix elements of treadmills, stationary bicycles, stair steppers and other exercise machines to offer a full-body workout (also called a total fitness workout) that minimizes joint stress and other negatives, giving the user the best workout possible. This elliptical trainer buying guide will help you figure out how to buy elliptical trainers that best meet your needs.
How to Compare Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers allow you to burn about the same number of calories you would by jogging. However, you can exercise on an elliptical trainer at any time, no matter what the weather is like outside. In addition, using an elliptical trainer instead of a treadmill or other home gym machine helps you avoid injuring your knees, hips, back and ankles. There are several types of elliptical machines available. By making an informed comparison, you can select the best home gym machine for you.
