My first shipment was damaged and had parts missing. One carton was obviously a return (it was sealed with duct tape) and missed the return inspection process. A call to customer service - on a Sunday morning!!! - started the process of fixing the situation. Thanks to Isabel in the warehouse for rightly insisting they send out a new shipment and have me return the damaged first shipment. It was the right call. Once the second shipment came in and I had inspected it, I set about assembling the dresser. It was really not difficult. My advice - take your time, read through the instructions first and get in your mind how things are supposed to work - especially the drawer guides - then start working on assembly. Several people mention how long it took them. It's not a contest or a marathon. Take your time, take breaks, and do it right and you will be pleased with the results. I found the drawer assembly especially tedious and took lots of breaks working on those. Also, though the instructions do not say to do so, when attaching the back piece, I found it much easier to lay the dresser on it's front first. Once finished, the piece is pretty heavy, so, if you can, assemble it near the spot you plan to park it. When I finished, I rubbed it down all over with Pl*dg* furniture polish and it glowed so rich it looked like it belonged in Rockefeller's foyer. It's a great piece of furniture, appears to be solid wood, and well worth the money.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The color picture on the web site looks about the same as the product I received.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Quality is top notch. I expected pressed wood, but it appears to be solid wood. If it is pressed wood, they have hidden it well.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Site description was very accurate.
