Do you love Scotch?
from New York, New York.,  Mar 30, 2013

The World Atlas of Whisky focuses on Scotland. While other Whiskeys are illuminated, it is clear by volume and spirit, that the heart of the book lie in Scotland. That said, the flow charts illustrating the choices made for each Whisky, and Whiskey are worth the price alone. Not for someone who likes Scotch, or single Malts, rather for the lover of Whisky, that someone who is a bit nerdy in their approach to anything, who loves "the Brown." Mr Broom is a sturdy writer, and illuminates his subject well, without getting overly bogged-down in jargon, and technical speak. Nonetheless, Mr. Broom's writing spoke well to me, and I enjoy knowing some of the technical aspects of how things are made. I am a bartender, so I see this purchase as part of my professional development. With the explosion of Whiskey making (and drinking) this book is clearly going to be dated quickly, yet because Scotland is not growing/changing as fast as the rest of the world, the heart of this book will be relevant for years to come.
