We bought this book for a young friend who wants to become a chef and own his own restaurant. He is delighted with the book. The book is well organized. The many photos resemble those in a Dorling Kindersley children's book: clear, close up and colorful. Many base recipes are included in dozens of categories. Herbs and spices are described by flavor. The book is over a thousand pages long and the binding will probably tear under the weight of the pages. The book is excellent for someone who wants a broad and detailed overview of food preparation.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Excellent, but book had a small pen mark in it and the cover seemed scratched from sliding in its box
