I bought this watch for one purpose. It is needed to take the place of my battery powered quartz watches while the batteries are being replaced. I wear these watches until all the batteries are worn out and then replace the batteries all at once. I went for two months without a watch the last time this happened. The watch had too satisfy three main criteria. 1) It had to be a wind up type of watch (no battery power), 2) it had to be easy to read, and 3) it should be very simple in terms of the watch movement (no fancy chrono type watch). This watch satisfies all three criteria and looks beautiful to boot. In fact, it looks better than any of my other watches with its very nice classic styling and interesting face design. I have been testing it for the last four days and it keeps very accurate time, only dropping behind about six seconds a day. Just a final note to those that think this watch is large. This is actually a small watch in terms of today's standards for a mans watch. It only has a 40mm case and 22mm strap. Many modern watches are 44mm or larger.
