IMPORTANT: The Tension Control Knob. Before you even start to put the bike together, get your Tension Control Knob and make sure the arrow is pointing on the "1". This will put the cable at it's most relaxed state, and you should be able to fit it into the hook when you get to that point of the Assembly Instructions. If the cable still will not fit into the hook, you can slightly bend the hook and then insert the cable, and re-bend the hook to original position. ALSO IMPORTANT: Make sure the Control Module works and that the batteries are still good. Have patience when assembling the bike and follow the directions. The hardest part for us was the Tension Control Knob/Cable, but things would have gone so much faster had somebody before us told us to put the arrow on "1". Ours came packaged on the "8" (the most tense state) and we didn't even think about altering it until after we bent the hook like another reviewer mentioned to do. Putting the arrow on "1" is SO MUCH EASIER than bending the hook. Alright, so the bike is SUPER-QUIET! And the fact that it has 6 pre-programmed modes is great! I could also use the Manual Mode, but then I just don't think I would stay motivated to stay on it the entire time, and the pre-programmed mode is handy to keep me from thinking about my workout. The bike is very sturdy, the seat is comfortable enough. Of course your butt will be sore at first, til you get used to it. This is not a "spinning" bike, so DO NOT stand up on the pedals to bike. I've only had it for two weeks but I love it!
