The 600 thread count makes it a tight weave for my down comforter and prevents any loose down escaping. My down comforter is a "double" so this Double/Queen cover was too wide and had to be trimmed down on both sides to customize the fit, which was very easy to do with the woven in vertical pin stripe which made a good guideline for the sewing. I'm very pleased with it.
