We just received our cooler in the mail and love the look. We have one side set to 60 and one side set to 50. The cooler seems to 'run' continuously for about 2-3 minutes and then it will stop for about 5 seconds and then 'run' for about 5 seconds - it does this cycle for about 2-3 minutes and then 'runs' continuously for 2-3 minutes and the stop/run cycle goes for 2-3 minutes, etc. This happens even when the doors have not been opened (since last night). The one side stays constantly at 60 but the other side will go up to 53, run until it gets to 50, stop for 5 seconds as the readout goes back up to 53 and then runs again, etc. It is not loud but I wondering how much electricity it is using. I contacted the company and they stated that if I changed my ambient temperature to 70 it would mostly likely not run as much but this would put my whole house at 70 which would definitely jump up my electricity bill! They also stated that if it is under a counter that it could be too warm and maybe this is what is making it run constantly but I pulled the unit out from the cabinet into the open for 12 hours and it ran the same. I have to admit the company is replying to my emails quickly. Hopefully the unit is operating as it should since it is thermoelectric instead of having a compressor. I would like to hear for other people on whether their cooler runs the same way or stays off for a lot longer before it cycles back on. Note: The ambient room temperature is 77 degrees, the doors are hardly ever opened and the interior light is not on.
