First of all, the picture shows a smooth leather (like worn saddle leather) chair, like one of those nice overstuffed library chairs you want to sink into. This chair and ottoman set is anything but, as far as the one that I received earlier this week. As soon as the box arrived and I realized how lightweight the box was I knew something was wrong. A true leather chair (whether "real" leather or Renu leather, or leather bond) would have some heft to it, as well as the wonderful leathery smell I look forward to. When taking this box into my apartment I was pretty much able to push it in with one hand it was so light. Upon opening and taking out of the box, I thought something was amiss, but wasn't sure until I had everything put together (a plus: you only have to screw on the wooden BLOCK legs on each piece) and looked at it, then compared it to the picture on this page. Both the cushions, the arms, the sides, and the back of the chair has these heavy double-stitched seams running up, down, and around...basically pieces of fabric (I won't call it leather) stitched together and stuffed. I checked the material labels on the bottoms of each piece and there is no mention of any "leather" or "leather-like" contents...just polyester and polyurethane contents for both. When trying to screw in the wooden BLOCK legs (not SPINDLE as described) they would keep hitting several of the large staples that held the black bottom cloth in place and chipping or scratching. For $350+, I just can't recommend this set as it looks more like something you would find in a low-end department store or a Big Lots somewhere. I hope the manufacturer and Overstock can get together and review this picture as well as the description for accuracy. One POSITIVE note: Overstock.com customer service was GREAT as I worked with them for two days on these issues, sending them my digitial pics of the item I received as it compared to what was on the page. This morning I returned the set (using their pre-paid label), and they already deposited a FULL refund into my account this afternoon. Kudos to great customer service at Overstock...probably the one thing that will keep me a customer!
