The Ultimate "How To" Book

From the moment I started reviewing this book to the moment I needed to use it for reference and recipes, I loved it. Really well presented. Simple instructions - with enough detail to explain WHY you need to do something. Dessert instructions are included in the back ---which I was not expecting. If you want a reference book for things such as; cooking utensils, different chopping techniques (veggies), cutting up a chicken, tying a roast, how to make fresh pasta, different spices & herbs, poaching a duck, grilling, homemade salad dressings, this is the everything book. Pictures are throughout...which is something that I need for cooking. This is my very first Martha Stewart book (although I have tried many very good web recipes). It's a winner. I'm enjoying this book so much that I bought one for a gift for my friend who can't boil an egg to save her life!
