I purchased it because I liked the clean, simple design, and the sewn-on border. Yes, I am aware that it was dirt-cheap, so I wasn't expecting super high quality. When I got my first order, however, a large chunk of the band (about 12") was not even attached to the comforter. The sides of the navy blue fabric were fraying, so there was no way to attach it to the white comforter, even if I wanted to do so myself. In addition, there were loose strings EVERYWHERE! I mean, it would be difficult to have it more "hairy" with strings. I returned the set due to the foot of mis-sewn border on the comforter, and Overstock was wonderful about it. They sent me a replacement almost immediately, which I got in a couple of days. That set, too, has tons of "string hairs." You either have to cut them short (who knows how long it will be before they unravel!) or attempt to knot them, then cut the spare string. I spent about two hours trying to do this and finally decided to let it be. I have washed it once (as soon as I got it), but I have no clue how long it will actually last. My guess is, not long. If you can find an alternative, I'd recommend it; otherwise, be prepared for a poorly-constructed product!
