We purchased this coffee table to replace an existing lift top coffee table that had been broken after too many moves. Our old one was heavy and took two people to lift it to move closer to the couch to eat a meal, then to move it back out again so we can use our recliners. A pain! Be forewarned - this is one heavy, huge box to move into your house! Be ready when it's delivered. When our box arrived and one side of the cardboard box had been punched in, we worried about damage. But we realized the indention was on the underside of the table, so everything was fine. My dear husband put it together by himself, with a little bit of me helping to hold a leg in place while he attached. Took him a little less than 2 hours, most of which was sorting through the parts vs. the parts list and vacuuming up random Styrofoam bits from all the packing material that was everywhere! And he took his time to make sure no mistakes were made to prevent any damage - which was successful! We are thrilled with the results, especially for the price. Local furniture stores sell lift-top coffee tables for $500-750 but this one is a steal at a fraction of the price. We love the casters - now it's an easy "roll" to move the table to where we need it, a one-person job. (Legs are slightly shorter than the wheels, so no lifting is required. But you can't tell by looking at it!) Wood stain was a bit light in parts (edges and underside), but I had some Old English scratch cover and it touched up perfectly. It is a very sharp looking table, and would fit into almost any décor. Drawers are for "show" but the lower shelf is great for storage. I think it looks much more expensive than it really was - which makes it a great buy in my book!
