The Coleman bags worked very well for the intended use. The zippers worked easily to attach and remove the day pack. the back straps were easily accessible and easy to return to store when not in use.The two together worked great for European rail travel and packing. from place to place.The only draw back was the larger bag needed to be checked and the day bag was a bit small. if the day bag was made larger and the main smaller then they could have met the airline carry on and and personal bag allowances and kept the same overall space. thus avoiding the risk of lost bags and time in the airports waiting for bags. (this is not the bags fault but would be a selling point if the bag was smaller)I would recommend Coleman line of bags but check size of your airline closely for a European vacation.
