We get compliments on our new chandelier all the time! It is located near a window so the sun makes the crystals sparkle during the day - and they are real glass crystals, not cheap looking plastic. In the evening when we turn it on, the lining behind the metal "bubbles" shimmers with a lovely glittery effect. We attached it to a dimmer switch which creates an almost multi-color effect on the lining when on a low-light setting. I was not expecting the black "bubbles" to be a separate piece from the white lining, but it doesn't look bad, and creates a nice look. The metal piece does have a fairly obvious join, which is okay if there will be one side of the chandelier that people won't see as much. The crystals must be attached to the chandelier by the consumer, using the included mini-keychain rings, which I found tricky to do after hanging the main chandelier piece. However, I don't think I would attach them before hanging the chandelier, out of fear of breaking the crystals during the hanging process (which was as challenging as hanging any new chandelier would be) though some extra crystal pieces are included. I do wonder if the company would offer additional replacement crystals if needed, especially as I worry about the crystals banging together during an earthquake. But it is also a nice thought that if we ever tired of all the sparkle, the crystals could be removed and an elegant, yet simple, chandelier would remain. This is a well-priced investment that enhances our home, and I anticipate will last well into the future.
