We cook a lot of Pakistani/Indian food and when we bought our new house, the thing we wanted to install foremost was a good exhaust hood to vent all the cooking smells outside because as much as we love our food, there's nothing worse than a house smelling like fried onions and spices. I bought this hood as it was very reasonably priced for such a high cfm rating (750). Although we had initially thought of installing it ourselves, we decided to use services of a professional in the end. We bought the duct work ourselves. We used 6" galvanized ducting pipes and added a 6" inline fan (about 30 dollars) to the duct work to increase efficiency. We looked up the installation person from *****. He quoted us 145 dollars, but it took quite a few hours to get the job done so calculating the hours, my husband gave 220. We had the duct work pass along the top shelf of the cabinetry to the side of the house. So everything is neat and tidy and the duct work is nicely hidden. If you plan to install the inline fan I mentioned, I recommend you use a professional because the wiring will get more difficult. Our installer wired it so that the fan turns on only when we switch the left fan to the higher setting. We've been cooking a lot now and the fan is performing wonderfully well so far. You can see all the smoke going through the hood. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a very efficient hood.
