This rug is a really exceptional value for the price. It looks like a higher quality rug; it's yarn-dyed versus spray-dyed, so the pattern is sharp and clear. It will spot clean easily. However, the yarn density is pretty low, about 80-90 yarns per sq.in., as is the pile height, barely over 1/4". But, this isn't really noticed until you feel it. Since I am on a tight budget, and using this in a guest room, I don't need the rug to be a higher yarn count, or a very plush height. In order to improve the apparent plushness, (and its durability,) a pad is needed under it, preferably something thicker than the standard non-skid pads. It shipped VERY quickly, item is perfect, and it looks pretty close to the picture, maybe a bit more muted. I will be buying more rugs from Overstock.com.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The background varies from light brown to chocolate to black. The blue-green is a dark robin's egg blue, and the orange is muted as well. The red shows up on screen more than on the rug. The ivory rosette pattern is quite variegated, not just a solid off-white, makes it look like an antique stamp.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Fair, with the caveat that it is a very inexpensive rug.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Too brief, there should be a mention of the number of yarns per inch, would more clearly inform on quality. It has a very subtle geometric background with a stylized floral design.
