I bought this over a year ago. I was looking at my cart to see when my next order is shipping and found that I had never left a review. I've been using my sewing machine for over a year. Here's what I love; I was super easy to set up and start sewing. I was new to sewing, I taught myself on youtube and was sewing on an old Singer Featherweight. I was fearful that a new computerized machine would be overwhelming. I got the machine out, pulled the DVD out and watched in on my laptop with the machine in front of me. There are lots of stitches and they are so simple to switch. I really love it and I can't imagine that one of the $3000 designer machines could be that much better! I've not spent enough time learning the embroidery part. I know it's not that hard because last summer when I first got it I was able to download a font I had purchased on ebay and it was beautiful. I've been sewing outfits for my little girl so I haven't spent time on the embroidery and applique. There's a DVD for that too. The two negatives are that the self threader broke within a week of having it and that was frustrating but I didn't want to try to return it and it was a refurbished machine. The other negative is one of the feet that is a special foot broke after using it for just a few projects and to replace it will be about $25 so I haven't done it yet. If I were to do it over again I probably wouldn't buy a refurbished as I couldn't return it, I'm guessing it was an "as-is" though I don't remember. I would buy one again, in fact, I bought a Brother serger and I LOVE it too! No complaints about it at all! I also bought it here on "O". I hope this helps someone. I know when I read reviews that people write before they use a product doesn't help me at all. I want to know how it works later on.
