At first, the foam was rolled so tightly and was so cold and almost brittle ( from the weather) that I doubted it would really fluff up. But I put it in a sunny room, and within a few minutes it started to soften and fluff right up. slightly unpleasant odor which disappeared by the next day. we love how great it feels on the bed!
