I bought these benches for my art gallery at the time. They are good hardwood, and require little care, plus easy to assemble. We did; however, have to reinforce the benches with 4 "L" brackets each, connecting the bench part with the frame (underneath) to reinforce them. We also bought pads for them through a different company. Now we have them in our sunroom, and they are excellent seating for lots of company. The hard (teak?) wood remains relatively scratch-free even though our dogs get up on them from time to time.
