I bought this same jacket several years ago and found it an exceptional value. Thick, supple, and durable. Recently, I just received my second jacket thinking it would be of the same quality. It isn't, yet at just under $100, it still is a good value. It is now about 20-25% thinner (I used a set of calipers) and the surface finish is not as rich as my older jacket. The shininess and lack of rich surface grain leads me to suspect, some of the quality standards may have been lowered. As for the leeching of the color others experienced, the older version did not do this, however, after reading comments, I used Lexol® over the whole jacket and some rags to remove as much of the dye as possible as well as treating the leather in hopes of improving its surface richness and dull the shininess. All in all, its still a good value, yet less than what it once one.
