This is a great chair at a fraction of the cost of going through Restoration Hardware. Obviously the design is not for everyone. To that end, most people will never see an accent chair like this, and it's a great conversation piece, albeit extremely cold and masculine. But you already know what it looks like. The build is solid, but not heavy. It moves around nicely on hardwood floors when needed, but it doesn't feel like it will fall apart. One criticism is the side panels are not flex and dent free. One good bump to the side will leave a solid dent. Accordingly, The design of the chair plans for this imperfect look and comes with slight dents, scratches, and blemishes built-in. A good call from the manufacturer as the metal will wear, but it wont look beat to hell as it would have if the metal came flawless. The dents you add will blend in. The seat is supportive, but you don't sink into it as you may expect. I'm 5'8" and the seat back hits me mid-to-lower back. This chair could be uncomfortable after a while without the ottoman, but with it, I like it enough to watch a movie. The leather is soft, but not high grade. It has a varnish or shine to it—a technique used on more inexpensive leather. Reminds me of bi-cast leather, as it may very well be. That said, it would clean nicely and wear fairly well, I imagine. Other reviews have noted rough metal edges and screws. I haven't seen this on mine, but you may be cautious of this snagging on clothing if given the opportunity. Overall, a great chair at least for me.
