I actually use the placemats to roll the sushi...they work much better than the mat I purchased separately. I also put a layer of seran wrap on it before I roll it to make clean up easier. Everything else is very nice also. The only thing I would recommend is laying the chopsticks flat to dry after washing. I put a set in the silverware draining rack (so they were upright drying) and they warped slightly. They are unique and comfortable to use.
