International Clothing Size Conversion Guide

from Overstock.com

If clothing sizes are listed using a system you aren't familiar with, it can be difficult to know how to buy clothes that will fit. The clothes here on Overstock.com are in U.S. sizes, but if you're used to a different sizing system, this could be confusing. This international clothing size conversion guide is here to give you an easy reference when you're online shopping for clothes for men, women and children.

Remember that, even with these charts, clothing from different manufacturers will fit differently.

Measuring tips

If you don't already know your size, you can find it from your measurements. For tips on the right ways to measure, read the Overstock.com Men's Measurement Guide and the Overstock.com Women's Measurement Guide. The measurements in these guides are done in inches; compare your measurements in inches to the Overstock.com Apparel Size Guides to find your U.S. size.

Women's clothing sizes

Women's sizes

Misses' sizes, also known as ladies' sizes, have even numbers in the U.S. sizing system. The women's clothing with these sizes may be followed by a "P" to denote that it is petite women's clothing, for women who are 5'3" (about 160 cm) or shorter.

Men's pants

Men's pant sizes all over the world have two numbers: the first for the waist measurement and the second for the inseam measurement. The difference is that, in the U.S., pants are measured in inches, while most of the world uses centimeters.

Newborn and infant clothing sizes

Babies grow so quickly, and they need a lot of new clothes! The sizes for all children's clothes are based on weight and height, so you can shop for the clothing that's right for your little one. Newborn and infant clothing sizes are based on ages, but remember that all children develop differently, and some children won't wear the sizes that correspond to their ages. The sizes are the same for infant girls' clothing and infant boys' clothing.

Toddler and children's clothing sizes

Toddler girls' clothes and toddler boys' clothes are meant for children aged 2 to 6 years old, but like newborn and infant clothing, you'll want to choose clothes based on the weight and height of your child and not just the age given in the size. Toddler sizes are followed by the letter "T."

Little girls' clothes and little boy's clothes pick up where toddler sizes end and don't have a letter in the size until they get to 6; 6X in girls is just slightly larger than a 6, but the styles will still be meant for little girls.
