Has anyone bought any refurbished HP laptops from overstock.com and if so could you tell me your experience abouyt it whether it be good or bad. I'm in the market for a replacement laptop since mine was stolen and I had an HP and I loved it so I want a replacement HP just like I had and the prices are reasonable since i'm on a budget.

First, the bad news: If you get something like the old-style monitor, it's likely to arrive broken. Not Overstock's fault, however, just the woes of shipping. The good news is that their refurbished desk pcs (and more than likely the laptops) are very good. My daughter got one and then got 3 more to make a network for the family. This was over 5 years ago, the pcs are still going, and my granddaughter is in college now & using hers for her schoolwork. You might pay attention to the stars given to a aparticular pc, because disgruntled customer might have returned that one... Just my opinion.

Oh yeah, I luv the refurbished computer I got from Overstock. Using it right now, along with the monitor & special keyboard designed for visually impaired people like myself (the fact that it's black & yellow, like my Steelers, is frosting). What really frosts my pumpkin is it's harder & harder to find a PC with an A-Drive. Some of us actually prefer the 3.5" disk and if Big-O can't keep the A-Drive, then there's really no reason to shop here.

Bought a refurb HP Pavilion dv7 17.3 inch this past July. Chose to buy the 2 year warranty. It has worked flawlessly and has all the bells and whistles on it. It arrived within 3 days of order. A great purchase. I will buy any new computers from Overstock as they stand behind their merchandise...

I have purchased refurbished laptops in the past,I own 3 Dell Lattitude D610's.They are very sturdy and completely upgradeable!. The company i work for uses them for their sales force,so i know they are well built. All mine are refurbished, and I am sure you will be satisfied by Overstock.com's service. My advice is to purchase an extended warranty if available, not that I have had trouble, but, they are an older model, and you just never know.I have had NO trouble with mine, other than my kids letting the virus protection lapse and getting wiped out by a virus!

Ive gotten refurbished products before.A refurbished product means that it has been either fixed or put back to factory specs.I've had no problems ever, you're basically getting a new product when you buy refurbished and usually get a nice saving in the pocketbook.I say "GO FOR IT" because alot of the times you will get a warranty comparable to new.

I also got a dell laptop computer it works well ....BUT it did not come with any microsoft programs such as word, excel, pp ect installed on it....very disappointed. and if you look at all their computers none of them come with this program.

I'd buy anything refurbished from Overstock, BUT an HP. After having one $1,000 HP laptop (new) die within months, then wait THREE months for them to repair it (which they never did) before HP finally sent a replacement laptop, which died in one month. When HP sent me a second "replacement" laptop, I handed it over to my disabled neighbor. I never want to deal with any HP product ever again.

Hi judybrowni, It sounds as though your experience with your lap top has been less than impressive. We would like to help you. If you'd like you can email your order information to community@overstock.com and we'll do our very best to turn this experience around for you.

I want to make this clear: I'm warning customers away from HP products, not other Overstock.com computers. I DID NOT have a problem with an HP computer from Overstock.com. My problems were with new HP computers bought elsewhere (and their disgusting lack of Customer Service.) Having one HP computer after another fail within months of buying new (while waiting over THREE MONTHS for HP repair), I would never buy any HP product ever again (even from Overstock) but would buy any other brand, refurbished from Overstock. I'm warning customers away from HP, not Overstock.com.

I have purchased two computers from overstock and they are great! As long as you know what to purchase and what you want. I bought the first one, last year, for my motherand recently bought myself one. Refuburished isnt anything to be afraid of,they are fully reloaded and inspected. You can buy a brand new computer and have problems. Consider these test driven, then cleaned back up to be like brand new. More then likely they even have upgrades. I am sure the computer, I purchased for myself, has more memory installed the when it was fresh out of the box, Can't beat the price for what you get.

Overstock.com Items are more expensive, I've seen many of these computers on tigerdirect.com for cheaper, I will never buy anything from Overstock.com. Why pay more when you can pay less somewhere else?

So tell us dennyh025 why are you here & how long have you worked for tigerdirect ?

I just purchased a Samsung R530 notebook. I am extremely happy with the computer, the price and especially the shipping. I ordered and received my computer with 3 days. My hat goes off to Overstock.
