Buyer Beware of Returning Items

I now remember why I stopped ordering anything from "O" if you might have to return it. I purchased an area rug, and mistakenly ordered the wrong size, way to small, when it arrived I immediately knew it was not what I needed, never opened it, went online and printed a return shipping label and shipped it back.I was going to order anoter one in a larger, correct size, but wanted to wait for this adjustment to clear my account first. They received it and only refunded less than half of what I paid! I am furious! Last time I shop "O"! That's a hell of a restocking fee! This happened once before and again it was an item that I never even opened and they told me that it was not returned in "unused" condition. How do we prove what was returned was never opened or used. Godforbid if you actually used it and it did not meet your satisfaction, what kind of refund you you get if any. So, buyers beware "O"'s free shipping is great but don't try and return anything and get your money back.

i had the same issue with slip covers...i have ordered a fair amount previously over the years, but had never had to return anything. The slip covers i ordered were of very poor quality and highly see thru...i only received a small portion of my money back. i had ordered a sofa and a love seat cover and had only opened one of them...That was last year and i have not and will not order again...it is hard enough to gauge fabrics and colors online...and i could understand them not wanting to take back returns that have been used...but when a customer calls or returns directly after purchase...come on..

Hello marylandshop, I'm very sorry that you were unable to cancel your order. Due to our commitment to process orders quickly, there is a short period of time in which you may cancel your order. Usually only 30 minutes after the order is placed. If you send your order information to social@overstock.com we can look into the cost that you were charged for the return.
