Best club set for someone who duffs the long irons?
-
I'd really like to get my dad a new set of clubs for Christmas, but I'm kind of a novice myself. What should I look for in a club that would help make long iron shots more consistent?

check out the highbred clubs looks like a small wood but hits like a long iron ADAMS Golf has some great utility/highbred clubs

I had the same problem....I purchased the Hippo's from Overstock and corrected the issue quite nicely. It is a complete set of hybrids and I got them in the SENIOR STIFF shaft that way you dont have to swing as hard to get good distance.

Thanks for the help! Hybrids seem like the way to go. I think I'm going to go for this Prince set -- http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/Prince-Golf-TRX-19-piece-Hybrid-Complete-Set/4129012/product.html. The Adams clubs look awesome, but the Prince's are more in my price range.

If your dad plays well, the best thing I have seen here is the Adam's Tight Lies 2010 hybrid/iron combo set, because the longer irons are fit into hybrids, which launch the ball higher and longer than traditional irons, and are not nearly as much of a challenge to hit. Adams golf, Callaway, Burner (Taylormade) were the best sets on this site. ask for his handicap, if it is above ten(10) these sets will help.
