    • Surprisingly Great Speakers

      These speakers are made to match the LEB-405 speakers also sold on Overstock. Like the 405's, these are just the entry level SDAT speakers, and while they look nice, they feel a litle cheap, but the sound quality is much better than the build quality and I don't think anything in this price range can compete with the sound of thes speakers. I bought the Beech colored model and my wife loves the look of them. If you buy the 404's and the 405's then you have got a perfectly voice-matched 5.1 suround system. I used these to replace a more exspensive Sony system and am always please at how loud they can get when the movie soundtrack or musice demands it. I have never heard any distortion out of these. The driver quality is without a doubt superior to Bose. I use a subwoofer, but these do put out very warm sounding bass on their own. I seriously doubt that these produce frequencies as low as 20Hz, but very few speakers do, and they certainly cost many times more than these do. In reality, most musical bass that we hear rarely if ever go lower than 40Hz, so this isn't a problem. Besides, like I said, My subwoofer nicely fills in the extrem bottom range of any soundtrack.

      The CAT SDAT LEB-404 speakers are excellent. They look good (the black version) and sound great. I continue to be surprised by the surround sound effect from two speakers. I am hearing things that I never heard before from the music and television programs I listen to.

      These speakers are awesome for the price and they look really nice as well. I bought the black and natural two toned colored ones and they in my opinion look nicer than just having black ones. Excellent sound quality...can get veeeeeerrrrry loud with little or no noise distortion. These were developed and made in Germany. Don't miss out on a great deal. I received them within a week, took them out of the box and a few minutes later i was listening to my favorite music. Highly recommended...

    • Great Rookie Speakers

      For those who are on a tight budget but are looking for decent sound, then these speakers are for you! These speakers handle abuse well on the lows and mids. I strongly suggest buying a second resistor for the tweeter of the same value as the first resistor. Connect the resistors together --000--/---000--- and then reconnet to the tweeter. This will balance the mids and highs beautifully. This will also prevent your tweeter from blowing out. Heck what's an additional $2.00 investment for great sound?! The other thing is that these speakers do not naturally push out a lot of bass and are perfect for apartment goers as they give you good sound control. Last, these speakers are not Magnetically Shielded but the magnetic field is not strong and will not affect the television at close range.

    • Great pair of speakers. Good sound. The dual woofers give plenty of bass depth. Mid range and tweeter are great too. I am powering the speakers with a Denon receiver. Be sure your amp/receiver puts out 80 or more watts. These speakers are 6-Ohm. They need the power and they can handle it!

    • Great speakers

      Even though there is not a massive amount of bass with these speakers, (regardless of your receiver) they are still a great set of speakers. I used them as bedroom speakers with my receiver and cd player some years ago (3 or 4 years) and they are still holding up strong.
