Product Features:
'My name is Wayan Rendah. I started to learn to sculpt at the age of eight when I was still in primary school, learning from my father how to carve traditional statues from wood. Balinese woodcarving touches me very deeply. I have learned a variety of arts in Bali, such as gamelan dance, but carving a piece of wood gives me an incomparable sensation. At first, I sold my statues to the sellers in the art market and at small shops. After I finished school, I studied with Wayan Purna so as to have a stronger foundation to build upon, because even at a young age I knew that what I wanted was to be able to create the ideas I had in my head.'

I purchased this item as a expression of love to my husband. We've been married 9 months and dated 5 years before that. I just fell in love with the artist's works. I found them symbolic; simple; sensual in a way that is totally non-offensive and very meaningful. The artist offered several statuettes to choose from and I chose this one because it symbolized to me a shared heart .My husband loved it and it now has a special place in our lit curio cabinet. This item and others from the same artist would be perfect for a wedding; anniversary present, engagement present or a romantic gift between spouses and lovers.Thanks for giving us the opportunity to bring ths wonderful item into our home.
The 'My Heart and Yours' statuete is a beautiful piece. I was initially concerned that it would be too small, but it is perfect. It is made of quality wood, and perfectly crafted. It was a great buy at the posted price.
