Batik is a fabric art in which a mixture of melted wax is painted by hand onto areas where color is not desired. When the fabric is crumpled into the dying solution, the wax cracks, creating an attractive network of fine lines. The wax is removed and the process is repeated for each color utilized.
Nyoman Nadri is an artisan of bed covers, pillowcases, sarongs, shawls, and many other textile arts. She started her career in embroidery in 1987, taking orders to make pillowcases and bags from 1989 until 1992. In 1995, she turned to batik when she learned it from a friend.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

I just received this lovely Batik robe and I am extremely pleased with it: the fabric is soft and comfortable,
the kimono-like tailoring and craftsmanship are exquisite. The color is a darker red than in the picture, crimson with yellow-brownish flowers, even lovelier than in the picture. It comes in a pretty linen gift box. Will definitely order it again, as a a gift.

Loved the robe! The only disappointment was that it wasn't as red as it looks in the picture. It was a duller color, which was disappointing,,however, I still love the fit and feel of the robe.

Nice touch for the oriental look. The robe is not as slinky as I was afraid it would be. Material is nice and fits the decor of my granddaughter's room. Wraps around with separate matching belt which is good for the "one size" fit. Batik is very pretty and has the handmade appearance in the dyes. Comes in a lovely cloth covered box which is also useful.
