This hand-crafted item and many others come from a third generation family run factory in mainland China. Their skills of hand-painting, hand-rubbed lacquering, and hand-tooling have been passed down for many generations. We are proud to support them in their quest to keep their age-old techniques alive for future generations. Many of the artists are hired out of semi-retirement to work from home training the next generation to become master craftsmen. These masters are highly respected in their craft and their culture which have survived through many Chinese dynasties and continue to produce valuable and desirable pieces for your home decor.

Customer Reviews
The workmanship quality was poor-the frame was very flimsy and there was splitting in the wood on parts of the frame. I did keep the item and ended up adding things to the frame to hide the spots where the wood was split and re-inforce the frame. I don't know if this is because this was the only one left in the color that I wanted.
Looked great and arrived very quickly. I may get more when I'm back at work again!
Good finish on this light-weight shoji screen. Not at all as wide as I figured. (Yes, I read the dimensions prior to ordering.) I had to purchase a second one just to cover the width of my queen sized bed. All in all, very good product for the price.
I was trying to find a way to add privacy to my masterbath, as it opens directly into the bedroom. The doorway is arched, therefore, a standard door was not practical. My husband and I ended up purchasing one of these lovely screens and disassembling the panels. He was able to attach a screen to each side of the door frame with new hinges. After adding some nice hardware, we now have beautiful "privacy" doors leading into the bathroom. I found the screen to be well made and reasonably priced...very pleased.
