Story behind the product:
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. The light socket on the lamp was not installed properly- that is to say that the light socket was not connected to the lamp. Very poor workmanship. I believe someone else posted a similar review and I thought that it was just a fluke so I ignored it!The lamp looks nice and we are going to fix it so it can be used.
This is a beautiful lamp, but it didn't work. On closer inspection, the two wires in the on/off switch assembly were just looped together in a loose knot and not attached to the switch. My husband properly attached them and it now works fine. The lamp itself looks like a piece of art and I love it.
I purchased 2 of these lamps to upgrade our conference room at work. They arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Very happy with the color and design. It was a little difficult to see the design in the photo on-line - dark blue on beige with drawings of trees and mountains and Chinese writing. I also purchased a new rug, side tables, mirror and silk ficus tree with a wooden plant holder for our conference room. I made big points with the boss and had fun shopping at the same time. Top quality, lowest price, that's the "O"!

I purchased two of these lamps even though there were no reviews, and am glad i did they are reallywell done, they came to my door perfect no damage, great size, great price for this type of lamp. Theydo have more of an antique look which is what i really liked about them, i am very happy with these lamps, they are keepers! thanks overstock.com for another great purchase.
