The Story Behind the Product
This hand-crafted item and many others come from a third generation family run factory in mainland China. Their skills of hand-painting, hand-rubbed lacquering, and hand-tooling have been passed down for many generations. We are proud to support them in their quest to keep their age-old techniques alive for future generations. Many of the artists are hired out of semi-retirement to work from home training the next generation to become master craftsmen. These masters are highly respected in their craft and their culture which have survived through many Chinese dynasties and continue to produce valuable and desirable pieces for your home decor.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

Since I like subtle lighting in my house, these were a great find....and easy to assemble. I bought one for my bedroom and another for the family room. Everyone who has seen them has commented on how great they look and have asked where I bought them. The only suggestion I would make to anyone buying would be to try lower wattage bulbs than the 60 watt max suggested...the rice paper is rather thin and lower watt bulbs make the bulb less obvious....
Most people would not expect your table to light up. I love that this table is displayed in my home and it offers additional lighting. Simple, Simple, Simple to set up and extremely functional as a table and great lighting. Definitely worth getting. My very good friend purchased two for me as a house warming gift 5 years ago and when I move, I will continue to use them. I love Overstock.
