The wind chime is made by artisans in a small village of Peru. They use ceramic clay and fire it at elevated temperatures. Then, each piece is hand-textured and hand-painted using different types of enamels and pigments. The Story Behind The Product
Gabriel works with his wife and 9 other craftsmen in Lima, Peru. Gabriel learned the art of ceramics from his father, continuing the tradition of passing this knowledge down from father to son. This art was used by the Incas for ceremonial offerings and ornaments. Gabriel?s clay comes from providers in Lima and Cuzco. The main source of business for Gabriel and the other 10 artisans who work with him and depend on the sale of these products is Worldstock. These 11 artists hope that you will find as much joy in owning their creations as they did in creating them.

I ordered 3 of these last year. I went to my son's this past weekend, one was sent to him last year. I could not believe this item. It was the first time I saw what I ordered. It was so small, you could hardly see it in the tree. As you notice, the size is not on the item when ordering it. It LOOKS very large and beautiful. It was small, does not chime, and is a tiny VERY expensive for what I received for the money. Terrible.

The chimes I purchased were beautiful and had a great sound, but it took three times to get them delivered. Luckily, time was NOT of the essence, since the Christmas holiday had come and gone, and once they were finally received, they were music to the recipient's ears. Wonderfully crafted and colorfully painted, they really are a sight to see as they tinkle in the wind.

Bought this for myself Jan 2007 to hang in my bathroom window. The colors are true to the picture.
It's a bit pricey for a wind chime but it's well made, on the heavy side and the chimes produced a pleasant sound.
