Story Behind the Art:
From the exotic island of Bali comes a native artisan whose gifts have touched the lives of ardent art lovers and Balinese indigents alike. In 1993, Pramana Suantara opened his workshop in the small village of Ubud, that has since produced some of the finest examples of Balinese artisanship. Yet it was Pramana's experience as a caregiver for the Red Cross that inspired his philanthropic mission. For ten years he provided aid to the sick and suffering people of Indonesia, traveling from Badung to Tabanan. During this time, when opportunity afforded him, Pramana would often sit and reflect on the Balinese beaches, collecting the hued and motley shells born from the azure sea. Assisted by local and rural artisans, Pramana Suantara shares with you authentic Balinese shell craft and jewelry. He continues to support and preserve the people of Bali and Balinese tradition.

I love these earrings, and get lots of compliments on them. They are beautiful - and match a red coral necklace also from Overstock.Originally bought a pair over a year ago - and one of them came apart. Haven't got around to gluing it back together, but when they reappeared on Overstock, I bought a 2nd pair. They're inexpensive enough I didn't mind doing it, and look forward to wearing them for a long time.
These earrings are really eye catching - a little longer than what I like but they will work for me;. The stone is very pretty in color and will go with many color shades. Well worth the purchase.
Get many compliments when I wear these. They have a good presence. A little darker than the coral necklace I own, but a wonderful color and true to the picture.
