This product was created in Central India. When the British removed its armed forces from the region in the late 40's a majority of the industries available for the local economy went with them. The indigenous people went back to the traditional crafts and furniture manufacturing that they had known for generations. Several hub cities of industry have flourished, creating numerous, sustainable, and stable jobs for the people of the surrounding villages. The industry that has been created by products like this has created an unprecedented number of schools, hospitals, and improvements in the infrastructure of the area. This industry has truly created a renaissance in economic growth in the region.

I JUST RECIEVED MY CANDLEHOLDERS THEY ARE ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL. EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED THE CRAFTMANSHIP IS EXQUISIT THEY ARE ALSO VERY HEAVY I LOVE THAT I HAD READ IN ANOTHER REVIEW THAT THE BASE WAS SEPERATE I WAS PREPARED TO USE A LITTLE WOOD GLUE ALSO BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT CAME IN ONE PIECE (EVEN BETTER) ALSO NICE BIG SIZE AND MINE ARE VERY STURDY I LOVE THEM

I am in the Interior Design industry and I purchased this set for my personal home. When I received them I was pleased enough that I didn't feel the need to return them. However, they are not constructed in one solid piece and they were of a cherry finish. I was hoping for a mahogany finish. It was a simple fix for me considering it was the design and mass I was looking for. I simply added a little wood glue to unify the top and bottom pieces and then I lightly sanded the units and added my desired finish as well as some accent paint for an antiqued effect. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM, NOW. I would like to order them for my mom, but she lives in another state and I would want to touch them up first, then ship them to her.

purchase from Overstock..... My candle holders appeared like they were made by two different people..The color of them were noticeable different as well as the overall appearance of them.....I had to put them each in a different location... They were extremely unstable as well, even after i put a thin cork bottom on them.... I definitely would not feel comfortable burning candles in them, for fear that they would topple over...... I have always been real pleased with l purchases made from Overstock ...I'm sure a few bad candlestick holders won't stop me from making future purchases. Other then this purchase i have been real pleased with other items i have purchased from worldstock... i have picked up several really neat items.
