    Story Behind the Art:

    Based in the village of Zenabwork, Ethiopia, artisan-crafted footwear is made using only eco-sensible materials. The artisans set out to re-imagine and redefine the traditional Ethiopian 'selate shoe', or rubber tire sole shoe, in dynamic and vibrant new fashions. Employing the highly marginalized people of Ethiopia, the artisan intends to create something that is authentically local, but with a truly universal flavor. With a unique sensibility, they use the traditional Ethiopian art of hand-spinning and hand-looming organic cotton into the finest, artisan-crafted footwear.
