This necklace is handmade by skilled artisans in nothern Thailand.Amethyst, or purple quartz, has been used by many cultures throughout history to make jewelry and other decorative or functional items. The stone has been associated with royalty in both Britain and Egypt, while in Tibet, it is considered to be sacred to Buddha. Leonardo Da Vinci wrote that it was able to dispel evil thoughts and quicken the intelligence, while the ancient Greeks often carved wine goblets from amethyst, believing it to be a strong antidote to inebriation!
