Story Behind the Art:

Diah Ayu is from Jogja, Java: 'My great-grandparents worked with diamond jewelry and my grandparents ran a cottage industry with textiles. I assume I got the art in my blood from them, and my two daughters both like to paint, so they may carry on the family tradition. I started working seriously with silver when I moved to Bali in 1995. The unique culture, charm, and beauty of this paradise island have become my never-ending source of inspiration. My main themes are natural--flowers, animals and the skies. Currently, four people from my village help me craft my designs.'
